CPF CONNECTIONS "PLUS" - RESOURCES FOR THE COMMUNITY OF PHARMACY

The Community Pharmacy Foundation is increasing its scope of activities in providing this all-new and dynamic CPF Website for use by the community of pharmacy.

CPF CONNECTIONS is your connection to a new world of pharmacy … beyond the Grant Process and Grants funded by the Community Pharmacy Foundation.

CPF CONNECTIONS provides you …

  1. The very popular Pharmacy Reference Library
  2. CPF Announcements
  3. Community Pharmacy Residency Support
  4. CPF Commentary
  5. Best Practices

Additionally, there is the all-new My CPF which brings you into the world of cyberspace and the opportunity to “post” with fellow pharmacists across the country in the Discussion Forum … see details about My CPF below.

As always there remains as a primary mission of the Community Pharmacy Foundation the opportunity to apply for and receive grant funding for special projects and studies related to community pharmacy practice. The CPF Grants Process is featured throughout the new CPF Website.

A summary of CPF Connections features are presented below (these do not require registration) -

Community Research

A most popular section of the CPF Website is the Pharmacy Reference Library … which now has increased functionality in your ability to search topics and subjects across a panorama of practice and therapeutic knowledge bases.

Specific information is also available on

You may also conduct a Sitewide Search using the search menu on the home page, or review all grants based on grant categories.

CPF Announcements
News and information specifically pertaining to the Community Pharmacy Foundation is provided in the CPF Announcements section. This includes announcements relating to the Board of Directors meeting schedule; grant submission and review dates; news about Focus Grants and matching grant opportunities; etc.

See CPF Announcements

Community Pharmacy Foundation Residency Support

The CPF Grants Process and schedule is not compatible with the academic schedule of a community pharmacy residency program offered by participating colleges of pharmacy. CPF does however support the community pharmacy residency programs and does so by funding ten (10) Incentive Grants for community pharmacy residents through the American Pharmacists Association Foundation.

See http://www.aphafoundation.org/programs/Incentive_Grants

Furthermore, when residents complete the program they quite often desire to extend or expand their community pharmacy residency project and apply for funding through the CPF Grants Process … utilizing their residency project as the template for a grant.

CPF Commentary
This section is currently under development. It will feature snapshot news of the world of pharmacy as well as editorials at times on a wide variety of subjects of general interest to pharmacists. It will also provide an opinion poll now and then on topics of topical and contemporary interest. Watch for future announcements on the development and implementation of this “fun section” of the CPF Website.

CPF Best Practices Best Practices

“Best Practices” is the special section of the Community Pharmacy Foundation Website designed to connect community pharmacy pharmacists, with college of pharmacy faculty and community pharmacy residency directors to enhance everyday pharmacy practice.

Best Practices is the link of the world of community pharmacy practice to a community of innovators who wish to share their best ideas with their colleagues … and collaborate by sharing new ideas.

Or you can use the Patient Care Services template as your outline to develop a new patient care service for your pharmacy to offer patients. You can do this within your pharmacy or partner with another interested pharmacist and do so collaboratively whereby one or both of you implement the service and build it together. For as they say in the movies, “if you build it they will come …”

Best Practices is your tool to build it … check it out!

My CPF

Currently there are two compartments of the My CPF section of the all-new Website. These require that you register in order to access (see CPF Privacy Policy).

The first is the Grants Application and its related Process. Registration in order to submit an online Grant Application according to the CPF Grants Process is obviously necessary in order to know who is submitting requests for funds for special projects and studies related to community pharmacy practice (Grants Process).

The second compartment of My CPF is the Discussion Forum … a cyberspace café for pharmacists and interested persons to “post” on a wide variety of professional topics. This Forum encourages discussion among professionals working in or with community pharmacies nationwide. Discussions are posted in a number of forums including specific Grants Awarded.
