CPF FUNDED GRANT DETAILS

This grant proposal is a unique collaboration between NCPDP and NCPA Foundation to ensure that independent community pharmacists are engaged in the standards setting process of NCPDP at this critical time of rapidly escalating HIT development. More than ever, the active engagement of independent community pharmacists is crucial as current decisions made in the NCPDP standards development environment are influencing the manner in which pharmacy will be practiced in the future. Historically, independent community pharmacists have been less likely to participate in this important standards setting process due to a myriad of other responsibilities. Continuation of this grant would help to encourage the core group of influential, independent community pharmacists, who have been engaged and participated in the process for the past 2 years, to remain active in the NCPDP standards-setting process, provide an additional forum for sharing their specialized expertise and go far in developing mutual understanding among pharmacy stakeholders and throughout the healthcare system.
