Formal medication therapy management MTM services are most often provided to Medicare Part D patients, but there are still many other patients who will benefit from MTM. In the workplace setting, comprehensive medication reviews CMRs may help control healthcare costs directly impacting both the employer and the patient. This project will demonstrate the impact of a community pharmacist-run MTM program in the workplace setting. The community pharmacists will care for the patient with the intent to optimize healthcare outcomes related to cost, quality, safety, and access of medications. Additionally, this project will demonstrate the huge opportunity for community pharmacists to target employers to offer MTMs rather than waiting for Medicare Part D programs to contract with their community pharmacies.
