1 Position pharmacists as the conduit of information flow between providers and patients, enhancing their role as providers of asthma management services that augment newly established asthma clinics within 20 local physicians offices. 2 Define the pharmacists leadership role within the asthma coalition that administrates asthma management clinics. 3 Train pharmacists in NIH and NAEPP guidelines for patient counceling and form a network of certified asthma educators to perform comprehensive asthma training. 4 Market the enhanced role of pharmacists to key members of the community asthma management team. 5 Evaluate outcomes using survey data collected at participating pharmacy sites.
