CPF FUNDED GRANT DETAILS

Since 2017, community-based pharmacists in Washington have been authorized by state law to bill medical insurance for the care they provide. Despite efforts by the Washington State Pharmacy Association (WSPA) to support pharmacies with resources, workgroups, billing guides, software summaries, grants, and initiatives like Flip the Pharmacy and CPESN, only a small number of pharmacies are currently utilizing medical billing. WSPA is seeking funding for an implementation project aimed at helping pharmacies adopt medical billing in a scalable and sustainable manner. This project will focus on providing hands-on support with credentialing, contracting, software implementation, and revenue cycle management. Our goal is to use these direct experiences to develop more detailed, practical tools that can benefit other pharmacies in Washington and across the country.
