CPF Synopsis | Forms
Objectives
Our geographical area is underserved for travel vaccine information and administration, yet we have a significant population that either visit family ie in Vietnam or vacation in areas where travel vaccines would be a health benefit. There is one small health care operation within a physicians clinic in the area that provides vaccinations and travel health education, however they are located in a different neighboring state and are cash only for services. As a pharmacy, with extensive vaccine experience, we are able and willing to attempt to bill participant insurance, have greater ease of access, and more convenient business hours to serve a busyworking population. The primary outcome for this study is to see if a Travel Vaccine Clinic, in an independent community pharmacy, is a profitable and sustainable endeavor. The secondary outcomes are to assess the number and type of vaccines given, effectiveness of different marketing strategies, patient satisfaction with the service, and if patients purchase and utilize pre-made travel kits.
