Objectives

Hepatitis C Virus affects approximately 3.2 million people in the US, however many are unaware of the infection as less than two-thirds have been diagnosed. Project goals are to implement Point-of-Care screening for Hep C in 5-10 Bartell Drug Pharmacy locations, build a sustainable model that can be replicated across the nation, assess pharmacist HCV knowledge prior and post specialized training, increase access to screening, document positive and negative results, assist patients with no provider get into the health care system, and to reduce overall healthcare costs through early detection.
